Last week during literacy we wrote some cinquain poems. Cinquain poems are made up of five lines. The first line is one word - the title. The second line has two adjectives that describe the title. The third line has three verbs in it that the title does. The fourth line is a simple sentence that shows our opinion or feelings about the title. The last line is one word - another word for the title. At today's assembly Silvija, Rebeka, Tahnee, Daniel and Alana presented their poems. Charis introduced everyone. Please watch the video.

Thesaurus Poems
For literacy this morning we discovered what a Thesaurus is. We found out that a Thesaurus gives us words that have similar meanings to each other. For eg loud, blaring, deafening, raucus, shrill and resonant. A Thesaurus can give us better words to use. We finished our lesson by making poems using words from a Thesaurus. Take a few minutes to hear our poems.

THE WANG WEST CUP
On the Monday before the Melbourne Cup, the Wang West Cup was run. We worked with a partner and made and decorated our own horses. We then went onto the oval and raced against each other to see who would represent our grade in the Wang West Cup against other children in the school.
You can see our horses on the slide show. Which horse do you think looks the fastest?
